Health of Doctors / Dentists and Health Professionals

OccMed Consultants offer self-referral to Dr Tohill, an accredited specialist / Consultant in Occupational Medicine for advice on health and work and how work is affecting health.

Seeking, engaging with and following occupational medicine advice is considered by the GMC / GDC as an indication of having good insight and compliance. It can help with reducing presenteeism, and enabling the doctor / dentist to take appropriate steps to help improve their health and wellbeing.

Dr Tohill has many years of experience in advising and providing support to doctors via self referral. This is an 'out of area' private service, and can be accessed by any doctor or dentist, anywhere in Northern Ireland and remotely over the UK.

Self-referral is entirely confidential, to an out of area location, in a private, safe space in Magherafelt or remotely via telephone / Teams if preferred. Confidentiality is maintained except in extremely exceptional circumstances where there may a risk to the individual / patients.

The appointment will include a comprehensive assessment of health, occupational history, an assessment of workplace issues, and advice in the form of a report, which will be sent to you and can then be shared by you with anyone relevant such as your employer. This is an occupational medicine report. 

Review appointments can be offered. The current cost of an appointment (April 2025) is £168.00.
